Our Philosophy

Laife Solutions was born from the belief that end-of-life issues should not be seen as constraints, but as opportunities.

Our mission is to support the renewable energy sector with innovative solutions and personalized consulting to achieve greater economic, environmental, and societal gains.

By taking into account the external context and the specific characteristics of your projects, we meet your needs for analysis, preparation, and execution throughout the lifecycle of your assets.

From challenges to Solutions, explore a few use cases behind our success.

Wind Onshore - 80 MW

Residual value and dismantling costs

For this aging wind farm located in South-East Canada, prone to long-lasting cold weather, we identified effective reuse and recycling strategies while assessing the associated residual value of components and materials. Our work also included detailed planning for dismantling processes and accurate cost estimation to ensure efficiency, sustainability, and economic viability.

Wind Offshore - 62 MW

Dismantling strategies and costs

On this offshore project based in the UK, integrating some particular turbines, our team provided support in mapping offshore dismantling processes and identifying operational needs. This went along with the assessment of detailed decommissioning cost to ensure strategic planning and budget accuracy.

Wind Onshore - 55 MW

Repowering strategies, residual value and dismantling costs

This multi-project assignment, including different wind farms located in France, needed our team to conduct an in-depth analysis of repowering strategies, adding the calculation of residual value and carbon impact. Our approach also included comprehensive dismantling planning and cost estimation to support informed, sustainable decision-making.

Solar Onshore - 800 MW

Residual value and dismantling costs

This very-large scaled PV plant in the United Arab Emirates suffered from a devastating storm damaging most of the infrastructure. Our work consisted in identifying potential end-of-life revenue streams, conducting detailed carbon impact calculations and providing precise dismantling cost estimates. This ensured an efficient and sustainable approach to asset recovery and environmental responsibility.

Battery Storage - 5 MWh

Residual value and dismantling costs

As part of early works on BESS end-of-life management, the customer’s teams needed different estimations and analyses. We identified future revenue streams from lithium recycling, conducting thorough carbon impact assessments and providing precise dismantling cost estimates. This approach ensures both economic viability and environmental sustainability in the end-of-life process.

Solar Onshore - 7 MW

Residual value and dismantling costs

For this aging solar farm in the South of France, with outdated module and inverter technology, we assessed opportunities for component and material reuse, perform in-depth recycling value analysis, and calculate the associated carbon impact. Our services also included detailed dismantling cost estimates to support sustainable and cost-effective end-of-life strategies.

Wind Onshore - 1.8 MW

Optimal profitability date and life extension

For a UK-based operator managing small yet aging wind farms, our team assessed the optimal profitability—or dismantling—date for several projects by comparing projected O&M costs with anticipated production revenues (and including recycling, site selling, …). Based on this analysis, we developed tailored life extension guidelines to support the asset manager in making informed decisions and ensuring a well-planned end-of-life strategy.

Solar Onshore - 7.8 MW

Regulations and suppliers management

After a devastating flood impacted the site area, the owner of two solar farms in Greece was left with thousands of non-operational PV modules. Laife Solutions was tasked with analyzing the complex European regulatory framework governing WEEE waste shipments within the European Union zone and identifying a suitable recycling partner capable of handling such a large volume of panels.

Wind Onshore - 22 MW

Residual value and dismantling costs

One of our early projects involved supporting a Belgian operator in managing the end-of-life phase of an aging wind farm. Our team identified viable reuse and recycling strategies, while assessing the residual value of key components and materials. We also delivered accurate dismantling cost estimates along with decommissioning planning to ensure an efficient, sustainable, and economically sound process.
